Camille Rendal - Modern Artist 

I walk through this world as an artist.  

In 2nd grade, my parents decreed that I would either be an artist or a musician. I explored both, and decided when entering college, that art would take the primary role in my life.

I have in recent years returned to music and currently build Native American flutes and guitars as a luthier.

As a professional artist I lived in Los Angeles selling my paintings to US and international corporate collections and to private collectors.

I hold  an MFA in metalsmithing /sculpture from New Mexico State University, and a BFA in painting from Otis Parsons. These studies led me to pursue a  career as an educator and art professor. 

 

My first teaching was as a high school teacher at Crossroads School for the Arts in Santa Monica, CA. I have taught at colleges and universities in MI, RI, CO. I currently teach for colleges in Washington and New Mexico.  As an educator my goal is to pass on all of my knowledge, skills and techniques to my students. This is done with an open heart and a desire to support the creative experience for my students.

 

I am constantly developing  as an artist.  Everything that I experience is analyzed through the eye of an artist (travels, sights, sounds, daily encounters). It is all recorded in my mind and psyche, and finds its way into my art.  

I work in a variety of media: jewelry, drawing, painting, sculpture, fibers.  I do not lock myself into a set style.  As a result, my work ranges from representational to abstraction. The concept inspires and drives my choice for media and materials. In many cases you will see one theme explored in various media.
